Vik Uppal founded Mavik with a clear vision to Build Different. Through his career, he saw that the old ways were too slow and the legacy institutions too bureaucratic for today’s challenges.
Grounded in the conviction that “if you do the same, you will be the same”, Vik set out to create an investment firm dedicated to the relentless pursuit of excellence, outperformance driven by innovation and a differentiated approach across the entirety of the firm. Within a mature industry, Vik’s vision is to break the outdated status quo, redefine the investment management space and position Mavik to pursue next-generation thinking, not only within the financial industry but beyond.
Mavik’s name is inspired by a Hindi word meaning the strength of a diamond and the fluidity of water. To us, that represents our deep conviction in our investment philosophy and strategy paired with innovative thinking and an agile approach that runs through all we do.
At Mavik, we strive to have 100% of our employees invested in our Funds and share in the incentive fee, which means 100% alignment and a true ownership mentality. We are owners, not renters.
